Alyssa B. Klausner, Esq. is an attorney working in the bankruptcy, litigation, and transactional departments at SwedelsonGottlieb since 2007.

Alyssa is a seasoned and skilled attorney with administrative hearing, litigation, appellate, and transactional experience in areas such as bankruptcy, real property, contracts, business, collection, construction and construction defect matters.  Alyssa counsels associations on a wide range of matters, including bankruptcy, delinquent assessment collection options, dispute resolution, contracts and general transactional matters.  In litigation matters, Alyssa has obtained very favorable outcomes for our clients as both plaintiffs and as defendants. Alyssa is one of the few HOA attorneys knowledgeable of the unique issues surrounding associations as bankruptcy creditors. Alyssa has presented bankruptcy and assessment collection seminars to various chapters of CAI, property management offices, associations, and other educational organizations. Alyssa has also taught various MCLE seminars regarding Bankruptcy, Delinquent Assessment Collection and Foreclosures, Real Property Remedies and Construction Defect through CEB (Continuing Education of the Bar - California), as well as other MCLE providers such as Law Seminars International.  Alyssa has authored several published articles regarding bankruptcy, delinquent assessment collection, and construction and construction defect issues, including, but not limited to (some of which may be found at hoalawblog.com):

Alyssa obtained her Juris Doctor degree from Southwestern University School of Law, graduating magna cum laude, and her Bachelor of Arts degree from the U.C.L.A., graduating cum laude. She is licensed to practice in all courts in the State of California and in every United States District Court throughout the State, as well as the States of Washington and Minnesota (inactive).  She has successfully argued matters before administrative agencies and the Superior Courts in the State of California, including, but not limited to, Los Angeles County, Ventura County, Orange County, Riverside County, Kern County, Santa Clara County, Alameda County, San Francisco County, and Santa Barbara County, as well as the California Court of Appeal, and each of the District Bankruptcy Courts in California, the Superior and District and Bankruptcy Courts in Washington, as well as Federal Courts in Hawaii and New York.

When not in the office, Alyssa enjoys spending time with her family and traveling (while bringing her iPad, iPhone and laptop with her to keep in touch with clients), and conducting pro bono work.  Alyssa is also committed to assisting and mentoring the next generation of lawyers.
